ULIRANG AMA AWARDS 2012:

In the observance of International Celebration of Father’s Day, the National Mother’s Day and Father’s Day Foundation of the Philippines, Inc. honored the Ulirang Ama awardees at the Centennial Hall A of the Manila Hotel in Manila headed by its president Wilfredo Talag (seated 7th from left) with other executive committee members, Justice Angelina Gutierrez, Justice Normandie Pizarro and Leticia Talag. Twenty Ulirang Ama awardees for sectoral awards category comes from the government service namely Rep. Rodolfo Antonino, Rep. Agapito Guanlao, Rep. Rene Lim, Governor Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado, and Mayors Ramon Ilagan and Edward Hagedorn; law and judiciary, Justice Isaias Dicdican, Prosecutor Gen. Claro Arellano and Judge Florencio Arellano; law enforcement, CIDG Chief Police Dir. Samuel Pagdilao Jr.; medicine and allied sciences, Dr. Nestor Venida; arts and culture, Ramon Diaz; media andjournalism, Alan Lagos Allanigue and former Rep. Adolfo Geronimo; business and industry, Victor Bunuan Valdepenas, Rodolfo Toledo Yaya, Cornelio Mapa, and Roberto Reyes Laurel; and socio-civic/religious, Jose Pepito Manio, Sotero Romualdo Esguerra, and Bernardo Canlas Pamintuan. Awardees for the special award category were Ricardo Lumanog Sazon, Posthumous award; Leopoldo Lagadia Jaramiel, Ulirang Ama ng Tahanan; Jean Marc Pingris Jr., Tanyag na Ulirang Ama, and Floro Yabyabin and Angelo David Hizon Jr., Ulirang Ama ng Angkan. The project aims to inculcate respect and honor for parents, promote Filipino values and provide models that exemplify integrity, high moral principles and ideal care and nurturing of children.
