Drag racing under way at BRC

-

A huge field of over 120 drivers takes their last plunge to push their respective title bids as the 2012 Philippine Drag Racing Championships Southern Series stages its final leg today at the Batangas Racing Circuit drag strip in Rosario, Batangas.

While defending champion Martin Manalo of RSL Motorsports and multi-titled Jonathan Tiu of JCT-Blanche Racing dispute the series crown, teener Arvin Jay Millet of TMZ hopes to gain his share of the spotlight in his quest for the Yokohama Expert title of this event sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines and sponsored by GT Radial, HKS Motor Oil, M&H Race Master, Yokohama and powered by Racing Beat@Wave 89.1.

Probably the youngest competitor at 19, Millet ushered in the new generation of drag racers who will continue the popularity and development of the sport in the legal, safe and controlled course.

He has won the first two legs of the Southern Series and eyes to wind up his campaign with a bang to seal the title.

Millet currently holds the solo lead in the Yokohama Expert class with 31 points, or 15 points ahead of Ace San Agustin of H3 Motorsports.

San Agustin could forge a tiebreaker if he wins this race and Millet either fails to show up or or quits before the start of the race.

Out to stop him are Jeremie Cabreros and Alex Guro who share third place with 11 points apiece, Wilson Castillo, Don Don Santos, Dexter Lim, Marc Buquid and Vic Mallari.
