Gwen, Sonny endorse different bets for 3rd district PB

-

House Deputy Speaker Gwendolyn Garcia and Toledo City Mayor John Henry “Sonny” Osmeña have endorsed different bets for Provincial Board post to pair with incumbent PB Member Victoria “Tata” Corominas-Toribio in next year’s elections.

Osmeña endorsed City Councilor Leo Dolino who is now on his third and last term while Garcia endorsed Balamban town councilor Atty. John Ismael “Jimbo” Borgonia who is also on his last term.

PB Member Alex Binghay, an ally of the Garcias, is now on his last term and is reportedly running for mayor of Balamban.

Garcia, Osmeña and other city officials, former congressman Pablo John Garcia and former city councilor Ricardo “Kuya Nick” Pepito attended the victory party led by newlyelected Barangay Captain Edgar Dejito Saturday night in Talavera, Toledo City.

Osmeña has already left when the Garcias arrived with Borgonia. Borgonia has been going around in the third district with the Garcias.

In response to several queries, Gwen announced her intention to run for governor in 2019 while Pablo John will run as the district’s representative, the post he held for two terms in 2007 to 2013.

Though they do not belong to the same political party, Osmeña, an independent, has committed his full support to Gwen of One Cebu Party for governor.

Osmeña, on the other hand, sees a three-cornered fight for congressman in the third district to include Pablo John of One Cebu, Tuburan Mayor Democrito Diamante and former PB member Grecilda Sanchez-Zaballero of the Liberal Party.

Pablo John has assured the people of Talavera that once he returns as congressman, projects will be poured in like what they did when he was in the position while his sister, Gwen, was governor.—
