Woman wanted for estafa falls
A woman facing three counts of estafa was arrested in her house last Friday afternoon in Barangay Estaca, Compostela town.
Compostela police chief Senior Inspector Junafer Vergara said Jocelyn Yuson, 32, was arrested via warrant after hiding from the authorities for almost three years. She said that after receiving reports the suspect was in the area, they immediately validated the information and conducted an operation.
“Wala man gud ni siya'y permanent address ang suspect mao'ng maglisod mi og track niya,” Vergara said.
The warrant was issued by Judge Dante Manreal of the Regional Trial Court, Bogo City in 2016 for estafa.
Yuson, who was a former dealer for a direct selling company, allegedly failed to pay her debts which led her being charged for three counts of estafa. Her bail was set at P18,000. Yuson is now temporarily detained in the Compostela lock-up cell pending her turnover to the issuing court.
Vergara said that aside from illegal drugs and illegal gambling, manhunt against wanted personalities in their area is also their focus.
It can be recalled that one of the directives of President Rodrigo Duterte to the PNP was to run after those personalities with pending arrest warrants.
