Mandaue holds SK registration in barangays
Youth voters in Mandaue City will be able to register for the 2017 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections as the Commission on Elections will be holding satellite registrations in the city’s 27 barangays.
Mandaue City Election Officer Ann Fleur Gujilde said that they will intensify the conduct of satellite registration for the first quarter of 2017.
The satellite offices will receive applications for registrations, transfer, reactivation, correction or change, reinstatement, and inclusion on the list of voters.
The satellite registration started last Saturday in the barangay hall of Casili.
Aside from the barangays, Gujilde said the satellite registrations will also be conducted at the City Social Welfare Services office and at the city jail.
The satellite registrations can be conducted in every barangay as long as the conditions set by Comelec are met. It shall be at least one satellite registration for every barangay
Under Comelec guidelines, the satellite registration should cater to not less than 200 youth residents in the barangay, and the place or establishment where it will be conducted is not owned, leased or occupied as residence by any incumbent city/municipal/barangay officials or their relatives.
The registration period started last October 3 and will run until April 29.
Gujilde added that applications for registrations at the Office of the Election Officer will be received from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.
