Newly-installed officerin-charge of Lapu-Lapu City Police Office Sr. Supt. Armando Radoc said he will conduct an assessment of the performance of all station chiefs and those handling important positions.

In an interview with The FREEMAN, Radoc said that the results of the assessment will become his basis on making actions in the next days.

Radoc on Monday started to assume as acting city police chief of LapuLapu replacing Sr. Supt. Rey Lyndon Lawas.

Lawas is now the head of the Regional Investigation Detective Management Division-7, the position previously headed by Radoc.

Radoc said his main concern is to maintain peace and order in Lapu-Lapu, one of the favorite destinations of tourists in Cebu.

Radoc said he will also meet with the different nongovernment organizations and other sectors in LapuLapu City and ask their support, citing the importance of police's relationship with the community in the combat against the problem of peace and order.

According to Radoc, he also expects the continuing support of the city government officials.

Mayor Paz Radaza expressed her full support to the plans and programs of the former city police chief and also vowed to continue supporting the new police chief.

Earlier, Police Regional Office-7 chief superintendent Danilo Santos Constantino personally officiated the formal turn-over ceremony held in front of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office.

Lawas said he was surprised when he was informed of his replacement.

Camp Crame directs all city and provincial police office chiefs should be replaced after serving for more than two years.

Lawas told The FREEMAN that after he was informed of his pending replacement, he personally informed Radaza.

Lawas said Radaza opposed his replacement, but he explained to the mayor the existing directives of Camp Crame.
