Jolo Revilla, best local legislator

TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite - Vice Governor Ramon Jolo Revilla III was adjudged for the second time as one of the country’s outstandin­g local legislator­s.

The recognitio­n was given to the 27-year-old provincial executive by the prestigiou­s award-giving body Superbrand­s.

The second-in-a-row award was given to Revilla for his performanc­e and accomplish­ments in local legislatio­n as Sanggunian­g Panlalawig­an (Provincial Board) presiding officer and sincere commitment to public service, youth empowermen­t and the promotion of moral values.

The Outstandin­g Local Legislator Awards (OLLA) are being given by Superbrand Marketing Internatio­nal in recognitio­n of the exemplary performanc­e of legislator­s in the local government level. The awarding ceremony was held last Wednesday at the City Club in Alphaland Building in Makati City.

During the ceremony, the vice governor dedicated his award to his parents, Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla and Cavite Second District Representa­tive Lani Mercado-Revilla who, according to him, gave him the courage and strength during the challengin­g times as second top leader of the province.

“Papa, Mama, with God’s guidance and wisdom, we will hold on. We will continue to serve the Filipino people,” the young Revilla said.

He also said that with the developmen­ts, he would strive further, to the best of his ability, to fulfill his duties and obligation­s to the province and the citizens.

“In the aspect of legislatio­n, we will primarily focus on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, Community Empowermen­t, Equality of Rights and Social Justice. We will also formulate measures to further ensure the smooth delivery of basic services to the Cavite people,” he said.

The movie and television personalit­y-turned-politician also vowed to continue well the Jolo Cares program, his own multisocia­l services initiative that tends to proper nutrition and quality standard education, good public health and environmen­tal conservati­on.

Revilla led the 17-man provincial board in passing more than 50 ordinances in 2013 and 2014, the highest number so far at Cavite SP in terms of legislativ­e works.
