CCCI uyon sa VAT refund; Makabayan bloc misupak
Ang lokal nga manufacturers ilabina sa mga naghimo sa native products ug delicacy, makapahimulos sa VAT (Value Added Tax) refund program subay sa giplanohan nga lakang sa paglambo sa turismo sa nasud.
Si Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) President Kenneth Co nitug-an sa Sunstar Cebu sa Lunes, Enero 30, nga ang lakang ni Presidente Ferdinand Marcos Jr. nga aprobahan ang refund sa VAT sa mga langyaw nga turista nga mopalit og mga butang sa nasud makadasig sa kalihukan sa ekonomiya.
Dugang ni Co nga ang ubang mga nasud sama sa Japan ug Thailand nagtanyag og susamang mga inisyatiba sama sa rebate alang sa mga turista, nakatabang sa ilang nasud nga mahimong destinasyon sa pagpamalit sa mga turista.
“The tourist will be happy to get the refund, (Hence) our local manufacturers should take advantage of this, especially the one making native goods and delicacies aimed at tourists,” matud ni Co. Bag-o lang giaprobahan ni Presidente Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang “Quick Wins” nga mga rekomendasyon sa Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC), usa ka tourism sector group nga nagtumong sa pagpalambo sa turismo sa nasud, pagpalambo sa mga operasyon sa airport, imprastraktura ug pamuhunan.
“It will encourage tourists to buy more local goods and this will benefit local businesses,” dugang ni Co.

“Inuna pa ang pagbibigay ng refund sa mga foreign tourists na kayang magbakasyon at magbayad ng VAT kaysa sa sarili nitong mamamayan na milyon-milyon na ang nagugutom, walang trabaho at naghihirap dahil sa taas ng mga bilihin at kakulangan sa disenteng pasweldo,” matud ni Castro.
“We in the Makabayan bloc filed several bills removing VAT on fuel and oil products, electricity system loss charges, tolls, water, all essential drugs and medicine, nutritional foods, and drinks. We also filed House Bill 568 Reversing Regressive and Anti-Poor taxation, repealing certain sections of RA 10963 or the Train Act. These should be the priority of the Marcos Jr. administration that would give great relief to millions of Filipinos,” dason ni Castro.
