BEEF PARES ALONG BACACA
THE Bacaca Road is one of those areas in Davao City that is regularly used as a short cut -- whether you are coming from Diversion road or the central downtown area.
Therefore, it is not surprising to see that several restaurants in the area will attract those with hungry tummies when they pass by the area.
One of the newest restaurants here is the Beef Pares House of Chef Mervin Loseo. Together with other foodies in the city -- Ian, Ken, Tere, and Vanessa -- I had lunch here recently.
For lunch, we were served the Sizzling Beef Tendon Pares with Bone Marrow. Served for sharing are Beef and Tendon Mami with Bone Marrow, Pinakbet, and Pancit Canton.
The Sizzling Beef Tendon Pares with Bone Marrow was a very rich and flavorful dish. I liked how garlicky it was and the beef was very tender too. I could not stop eating it the moment I started digging it. However, the dish was really rich with its meatiness, saltiness, and garlic. But a few squeezes of calamansi, as suggested by Ken, would do the trick.
The Beef and Tendon Mami was also delicious. It was a hearty noodle soup dish. This is the kind of mami that I would enjoy on a cool and rainy day.
I also enjoyed the Pinakbet. What I loved about their Pinakbet is the ampalaya not being too bitter.
For dessert, we had the Mango Float Ice Cream. It was a good way to end the meal.
What is good about their mango ice cream is it is not very sweet.
Beef Pares House is worth the stop along Bacaca Road if you are looking for affordable, delicious, and a tummy-filling meal. The restaurant is located just outside the entrance to Ladislawa Village.
