Ateneo de Davao University (Addu) athletics coach Airnel Abarra, who is currently at German Sport University in Germany, bared this in a Facebook chat with Sun. Star Davao yesterday.

Abarra said the act of generousity was made possible by Dr. Norbert Stein, a professor of the German Sport University and technical director for athletics at the German University Sports Federation.

“It happened that I told Dr. Stein since last year our initiatives to build better programs in athletics, which he also believes that local meets and events such as BKTL can help athletes develop to become better athletes like in Germany where local and club based meets are very common,” Abarra said on how the partnership with the German University Sports Federation started.

Athletes who regularly participates in the BKTL will benefit the authentic and branded shoes designed for athletics.

“Ang Bibigyan natin na athletes first are those who are deserving and indigent and those who regularly participates in the Blue Knights Track League,” Abarra added.

Currently, the shoes are in safekeeping in Rös- rath, Cologne in Germany and it will be shipped to the Philippines as pledged by Filipino-Belgian dentists Geert Verhaegen and Faith Nuñez.
