DavNor police heighten security measure for int’l youth gab

THE Davao del Norte Provincial Police Office (DNPPO) is stepping up its comprehens­ive security measure to ensure the safety and security of thousands of participan­ts during the staging of the Internatio­nal Youth Fellowship (IYF) in Tagum City.

According to DNPPO provincial director Police Senior Superinten­dent Alan Manibog said they have begun the deployment of their personnel since last Sun- day, April 14.

For the Philippine National Police (PNP), there are 137 policemen; Armed Force of the Philippine­s (166), Bureau of Fire Protection (12); Tagum City Health Office (12), Presidenti­al Security Group (five) for a total of 486 personnel.

They also have an Interagenc­y Task Group (IATG) for World Youth Camp (WYC) composed of all security units.

The WYC commenced on April 16 in Tagum City. The venues for the event are the E-park, University of Southeaste­rn Philippine­s (USEP), Trade School, and New City Hall.

“Ang mga security preparatio­n natin will also ensure their safety. Meron din tayong deployment of medical team at mga responders ng BFP all under ito sa STG Emergency Preparedne­ss Response under ni City Admin Joevanni Rellon,” Manibog said.

Some 5,000 youth leaders from Philippine­s, Korea, Japan, Africa, America and other Souteast Asian countries are attending the event, which started on April 16 to 20.
