Fun activities at Araw ng Empleyado

-

Employees of the Davao City government yesterday had a lot of fun activities starting with the booths for every office, Palarong Pinoy and fun walk during their Araw ng mga Empleyado held at Rizal Park yesterday.

However, the skeletal force was left in their offices to cater to public transactions.

As of 11 a.m. yesterday employees formed their teams for the Palarong Pinoy staged at the center of the Rizal Park, while other employees man their different booths within the park.

Each booth contains various kinds of goods, RTW, food stalls, and mini-hand crafts.

Balay Dangupan of the City Social Services and Development Office sold key chains, City Agriculturist Office sold fresh kamote tops juice, while the City Transportation and Traffic Management Office sold ice cream. Other booths also have their own kind of wares or goods.

A free photobooth for employees was also set up beside the stage, where they had their photos printed with Araw ng Dabaw borders.

Davao City Human Resources and Management Office (HRMO) Erwin P. Alparaque in an interview with Sun.Star Davao yesterday said that employees of each office were given freedom to select what kind of booth to put up and what kind of goods to sell.

He added that these offices will decide later where they will spend their income.

Apart from such activities, the employees as early as 6 am participated in the Parada ng mga Empleyado which started at the People's Park and culminated at Rizal Park. It was followed by yells and cheers contest which took place at Rizal Park. While booths and palaro was ongoing at the Rizal Park, a poster-making contest was also held at Davao City Hall training hall.

Alparaque said that this year's Araw ng mga Empleyado events were different, since last year’s activities were focused on health and wellness,

where they conducted free checkups, massage, haircut, among others.

He said they tried to arrange events that will ensure full participation of the employees this year.

Yesterday afternoon, an Employee's Got Talent event was also held, which became the main highlight of the Employees’ Day.

Alparaque said that despite the activities, they made sure that there is business as usual in the offices.

Aside from the booths of employees yesterday, the Social Security System (SSS) also placed "SSS on Wheels" which accepted applications. KVC
