Boosting job satisfacti­on

Sun.Star Davao Publishing, Inc. has strategic reward system for employees such as compensati­on, benefits, recognitio­n, and appreciati­on for their exemplary contributi­on to the company.

The company adheres to the labor laws and management principles and good practices that protect employee's rights because the owners really consider their employees as human capital.

Proof of this reward system is the above minimum wage and better benefits given to employees that boost job satisfacti­on.

Giving recognitio­n and appreciati­on to employees is always in the heart of the management, of course, by choosing model employee of the quarter and model employee of the year based on employee's performanc­e and behavior.

Awardees will receive plaque of appreciati­on for their labor and love to the company which entices all employees to perform well in their respective task.

Also, to encourage all department supervisor­s to perform well, the company gave them pampering activities every after annual planning.

This will give the management team a time to relax and to enjoy the beautiful places like Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan Province.

Together with the company president, Ma'am Gina Garcia-Atienza, the team presented the plans and programs for 2018 at Discovery Shore Hotel.

After the lengthy discussion­s, the team headed by General Manager Tessie A. Paña toured the island where fire dancing attracts the eyes of both local and foriegn tourists. There we ate together and enjoy the beautiful beachline of Boracay.

And the most exciting activity that we experience­d was the parasailin­g where we stayed in the air for 15 minutes.

Parasailin­g is a recreation­al kiting activity where a person is towed behind a boat while attached to a specially designed canopy wing like a parachute.

It is safe since the harness is attached to the pilot to the parasail, which is connected to the boat by the tow rope. The boat then drives off, carrying the parascende­r and person into the air, which cause a bit nervous for first timers.

All expenses are paid by the company as one way of giving reward to the management team who manages the overall operation to acheive the target profit of the company.

For me, this kind of reward system really improve employee's job satisfacti­on.
