Pa sued for rape

A FATHER is facing charges before the court after he sexually harassed his six-year-old daughter at a subdivision in Barangay Talomo Proper, Davao City last August 8, Tuesday.

Charged with qualified rape through sexual assault and violation of the Republic Act 7610, otherwise known as The Anti-Child Abuse Law, is Ali (name withheld for the child’s protection).

Prosecutor Rogieliza Verallo found probable cause to charge the accused based on the complaint filed by the victim, along with her cousin only identified as Mess who serves as her guardian.

In a two-page resolution, the victim attested that her father sexually harassed her last August 8, which resulted her to bleed. She added that the incident did not happen only that day but for three times.

The victim reported the incident to her teacher when she arrived in their school the next morning. Her teacher then brought her to a clinic for medical checkup. A

medico-legal certificate was issued.

During the inquest, Verallo said, it was observed that the victim clearly understands what the accused did to her thru answering, nodding her head, the gesture on her hands, and demonstrating the three incidents by the two little dolls.

Verallo said the accused is liable for child abuse, other sexual abuse, and rape following the psychological and physical abuse, neglect, cruelty, sexual abuse and maltreatment he had committed to her daughter. ICT
