2 hurt in separate hacking incidents

TWO persons landed at the hospital after being involved in two separate hacking incidents in Davao City in the past three days.

The latest incident happened at around 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Upper Dampa, Brgy. Waan in Buhangin where the victim was identified as Rocky Fabun Manungkad, 38, chainsaw operator, and a resident of Purok 3, Waan, Buhangin District.

Initial investigat­ion conducted by PO3 Rubern Corsino of Buhangin police revealed that the victim was on his way home when the suspect identified as alias Jaime, of the same address, approached the victim and without any reason hacked him using a bolo, hitting him on his left shoulder.

The suspect fled to an unknown direction after the incident while the victim was brought to the Southern Philippine­s Medical Center (SPMC) for treatment.

The victim was declared out of danger by his attending physician.

Buhangin police are still conducting follow-up investigat­ion to determine the whereabout­s of the suspect.

The other incident happened at around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sitio Pangyan, Brgy. Tamugan in Marilog District.

Police identified the victim as Roman Mansaluhon Hasian, 36, farmer and a resident of Sitio Turoyan, Barangay Tam in Marilog District.

police revealed that the victim engaged in a heated altercatio­n with suspect identified as Glen Tizon Bayanban, 27, of the same address, about their past problems.

But the suspect then hacked the victim using a still undetermin­ed weapon, sustaining hack wounds on his head and left leg.

The victim was rushed to SPMC for treatment as the suspect escaped to an unknown direction.

Marilog police are still conducting follow-up operation against the suspect.
