#FreeInMySkin launched

Dry and sensitive skin affects 60-70% of Filipino women, and impacts on their quality of life as they are unable to fully embrace living life to the fullest.

GlaxoSmithKline’s (GSK) mission is to help people do more, feel better and live longer. In line with this mission, GSK’s Consumer Healthcare division and Physiogel, its flagship skin health brand, aims to help Filipinas and all women across Asia, to be free from dry and sensitive skin.

research from the GSKSkin Health Asia Pacific Consumer report 2014 shows that more than 50% of women across Asia experience sensitive face and body skin in the past 12 months.

One out of two Asian women suffers from dry and sensitive skin. In the Philippines, the figure is higher at 71% and 61% having sensitive face and body skin, respectively.

Sensitive skin can be caused by a multitude of factors – from climactic harshness and pollutants in the air and water to hormonal factors and stress that is further compounded by the use of cosmetics – these are the everyday problems that women face.

According to GSK’s Skin Health Senior Product Manager Justin Lladoc, “Physiogel continues to advocate its #FreeInMySkin Movement because GSK believes that sensitivity can be a source of strength for women, not a weakness to be hidden away. The Movement coincides with the debut of the NEW Physiogel Daily Moisture Therapy line.”

“The #FreeInMySkin Movement is more relevant than ever and is able to digitally reach Filipinas far and wide across the nation with the introduction of the #FreeInMySkin website and the Freedom List Challenge. By the end of 2016, the movement is expected to have rolled out across the whole Asia region as well. And with the overwhelming feedback from consumers, it has also caught the attention of Mercury Drug. Mercury Drug shares in the advocacy of Physiogel to free many more Filipinas from dry and sensitive skin by making Physiogel products available across the archipelago,” Lladoc said.

The new Physiogel Daily Moisture Therapy line continues to be a differentiated science-led solution featuring the unique PhysiogelBioMimic Technology® that works to soothe and repair the skin’s natural moisture barrier.

It is highly recommended by dermatologists because it is non-comedogenic, and free from soap, preservatives, perfumes and colourants.

TV host, model/entrepreneur, and blogger, Patti Grandidge is one of those who suffered from dry and sensitive skin. Patti now embodies the new Physiogel woman: smart, elegant, strong and empowered because she is finally free from dry and sensitive skin.

“When I moved back to Manila, my derma actually recommended Physiogel. It worked very well for me. Those close to me and those who see me often have noticed how much my skin has improved. I think they are also aware of the confidence that comes from within; I’m more comfortable at wearing less make up now and I’m not as insecure as I was before,” Patti says.

GSK is encouraging Filipinas to discover their true selves by taking the new Physiogel’s Freedom List Challenge and join the #FreeInMySkin Movement. Log on to http://www.freeinmyskin.com/ph and take the Challenge yourself.
