4Ps delisting only when conditions are not met

-

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Davao Region clarified that beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) will only be delisted if they failed to comply with the requirements asked from them.

Rius Valle, spokesperson for the Save Our Schools Network, in an interview outside the

DepEd office on Monday, said the network received reports that parents and students were threatened by soldiers that anyone who continues studying in Salugpongan will be delisted from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) of the government.

Valle said it has been reported that only three students have enrolled at the Salugpongan Ta ‘Tanu Igkanogon schools in Barangay Dagohoy in Talaingod town due to the constant threat of the soldiers.

He added that the military is also harassing construction of schoolbuildings in Barangay Mascareg in Mabini town in Compostela Valley province.

Margie Cabido, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation officer of the 4Ps, said as far as their office is concerned, nobody and no one could delist a 4Ps recipient except themselves. She added that whether the reports are true, beneficiaries of the 4Ps will be beneficiaries as long as they would able to comply the requirements asked from them.

“Wala may ingon ana. Wala’y angay kabalak-an ang mga beneficiaries’ kay wala man bisan kinsa miski kami sa DSWD ang maka-padelist sa ila kundili ilang mga kaugalingon lang. As long as na comply nila ilang mga requirements, they will be 4Ps beneficiaries (There is nothing to fear because even the DSWD cannot arbitrarily delist a beneficiary. It is all up to the beneficiaries whether they comply with the conditions set),” Cabido said.

Eastern Mindanao Command (Eastmincom) public information officer Captain Alberto Caber, meanwhile, denied the accusations. He said there is no truth that the military are threatening the students and parents to go back to schools, not to avail the DSWD’s 4Ps Program neither hold the constructions of some schools in Compostela Valley province.
