CAPITOL TO HIRE AD AGENCY FOR P3.2M
Advertising firm will be asked to produce radio spots that will highlight the Provincial Government’s programs and projects and monitor Capitol’s ads in radio stations.
The Cebu Provincial Government has allocated P3.2 million for the hiring of an advertising firm that will produce radio ads showcasing the Capitol’s programs and projects.
But Provincial Administrator Mark Tolentino denied that the move will be used to support the reelection bid of Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III in next year’s elections.
Tolentino, who is also the Province’s acting public information officer, said that the hiring of an advertising firm is part of his office’s mandate to inform constituents about the Province’s programs and projects.
Based on the bid invitation posted on the Province’s official website, the winning bidder is required to produce 15 10-minute radio spots, which will be aired between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
Tolentino, who also serves as chairman of the bids and awards committee (Bac), said that one of the responsibilities of the winning bidder or advertising agency is to maintain and monitor the ads they have placed in radio stations in Cebu.
Tolentino said what they are primarily after is to get the best coverage when it comes to disseminating the Province’s programs and projects to its constituents.
“We’ve been trying to professionalize our service. We’ve been trying to do an honest-to-goodness information dissemination of our services and accomplishment of the Province. It is too early to be doing elections,” he said. /
