THANKS, INDAY!

CEBU’S PRACTICALLY A CO-STAR IN THIS ROMANTIC COMEDY

- Article

The stars of “Inday Will Always Love You” recently dropped by the Queen City of the South to promote their new teleserye. And Cebu is just the perfect place to promote the project since the province is widely featured in “Inday Will Always Love You.”

The TV series stars Barbie Forteza as Happylou, a lechon store assistant from Manila whose life will make a topsyturvy turn when she relocates to Cebu.

The newest rom-com produced by GMA News and Public Affairs will showcase the unique beauty and rich culture of Cebu that makes the province one of the top destinations of international and local tourists. More importantly, “Inday Will Always Love You” will paint the beautiful stories of Cebuanos and the Filipino family as seen through the eyes of Manileña girl Happylou.

Joining Forteza in spreading

are Kapuso heartthrobs Derrick Monasterio and Juancho Trivino.

“Inday Will Always Love You” also sees the return to the small screen of the much-loved DerBie (Monasterio and Forteza) love team after their successful team-up in “The Half Sisters.”

Sharing her excitement over her upcoming primetime series, Forteza said viewers will surely enjoy watching “Inday Will Always Love You,” which she said is quite different from her last project.

“Here, we are all Pinoy, so people can relate to us more through Happylou’s experiences, which for sure they have also experienced,” said Forteza in Tagalog.

Forteza has been to Cebu a number of times, but filming “Inday” gave her something different.

“I’m really excited with this show because even if I have been visiting Cebu for quite some time, this was the only time I ever visited the wonderful beaches in Cebu,” the 20-yearold actress said.

But of course, no Cebu trip is complete without the lechon— especially since lechon plays an important role in “Inday.”

“I want to visit all places with great lechon. I’m a foodie,” said Forteza. “Nothing compares to Lechon Cebu. When somebody pretends to serve you Lechon Cebu, you would know if it’s really Lechon Cebu or not."

Adding color to Happylou’s journey of love and family drama are some of the country’s veteran actors led by Ricky Davao, Manilyn Reynes, Nova Villa and Tina Paner. Viewers should also look forward to the characters of Kim Rodriguez and Super Tekla as well as the all-grown up “Lumen Twins”

Charisse and Charlotte Hermoso and the local actors from Cebu.

At the helm of this upcoming series is director Monti Parungao with head writers Zig Dulay and Nathan Arciaga.

Nag-iisa ang Lechon Cebu. Parang kunwari pakainin ka sa Cebu ng lechon at hindi yung Lechon Cebu, malalaman mo.

BARBIE FORTEZA
