Marinerong Pilipino goes full force

The Philippine Basketball Associatio­n (PBA) D-League team Marinerong Pilipino will be in full force as they vie for title in the Cebu City Sinulog Cup 2018 Basketball Invitation­al, which tips off on Jan. 8 at the Cebu Coliseum.

Marinerong Pilipino will have the services of Alvin Pasaol of University of the East, Vince Tolentino of Ateneo de Manila University and Abu Tratter of De La Salle University.

The other key players are Filipino-American Kyle Toth of Cal Poly, Achie Iñigo of Far Eastern University (FEU) and Renzo Subido of University of Santo Tomas.

Marinerong Pilipino will look to stamp their class in the Sinulog Cup 2018 Basketball Tournament as they prepare for the upcoming PBA D-League Aspirant’s Cup.

Cebu will be represente­d by University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers/SG ARQ Builders, University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters/M Lhuillier, Cebu Landmaster­s Inc., and University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars.

The six-day commercial basketball tournament organized by Cebu City Sports Commission and supported by Cebu City Government will shell out P75,000 cash prize to the champion and P50,000, P30,000 and P10,000 to the runners-up.

Meanwhile, basketball fans who will watch the games at Cebu Coliseum will get a chance to win basketball gears on the raffle draw.

Cebu City Councilor and deputy mayor for sports Jerry Guardo said that they will raffle out shoes, jerseys, and sports apparels every game courtesy of FLY Basketball.
