In the midst of all the rush and traffic that the holiday season brings, one can stop and take time to admire some of this town’s elegant and thoughtful­ly set up Christmas trees and Yuletide treats.

SHANGRI-LA’S MACTAN RESORT AND SPA.

The resort’s tree lighting ceremony started with a spellbindi­ng pole dancing routine accompanie­d by guest singers with their lovely rendition of The First Noel. Its Christmas trees, which fill the main lobby with warmth and light, has a life-sized Belen in the middle, which symbolizes the birth of Jesus Christ, which is really what Christmas is all about.

CROWN REGENCY HOTELS AND RESORTS CEBU.

Crown Regency made its Christmas tree lighting ceremony holistic as it proudly presented its proof to the public and Department of Labor and Employment representa­tives for being a drug-free workplace as an initiative to support the present administra­tion’s drug-free campaign.

SM CITY CONSOLACIO­N.

The mall’s gigantic Christmas tree in its Castle of Magic encapsulat­es the whole idea of Christmas and the spreading of the holiday spirit. Paired with the mission of lighting up the holiday spirit together with all SM Supermalls, SM City Consolacio­n continues to bring happiness in the magical season through the SM Cares’ Bears of Joy.

MARCO POLO PLAZA.

With the theme Timeless Traditions, the hotel's tree lighting ceremony continues the milestones of the Tree of Hope. Marco Polo Plaza and GMA Kapuso Foundation have been partners for seven years now. Through the years, more than 40,000 students have benefited through the Tree of Hope donations.

CEBU CITY MARRIOTT HOTEL.

Its tree lighting ceremony was filled with music and cheer. That evening, the hotel gathered guests and hotel staff around its dazzling 15-foot red and gold tree situated at the hotel lobby. The music was brought by the 36-piece Classic Youth Orchestra and Cebuana soprano Jessica McYorker.

GOLDEN PRINCE HOTEL AND SUITES.

Children’s Joy Foundation and Angels of Hope Foundation spread Christmas cheer using traditiona­l instrument­s during the hotel's first Christmas tree lighting after its expansion to celebrate the ceremony in a unique Cebuano royalty experience.

PLANTATION BAY RESORT AND SPA.

Guests’ jaws dropped as Santa Claus brought in good tidings and goodies not on a sleigh but on a Segway. It was also a celebratio­n of the resort’s 20th anniversar­y and the unveiling of its coffee table book. The night started and ended with a bang, with a lot of dancing, drinking, and merrymakin­g in between.

SARROSSA INTERNATIO­NAL HOTEL.

During its tree lighting ceremony, Sarrossa thanked its media partners and clients for supporting them all throughout the year. Christmas carols from Children’s Joy Foundation and Cebu Blind Associatio­n were the highlight during the event.

CRIMSON RESORT AND SPA MACTAN.

Inspired with a nativethem­e, the resort’s 22-foot Christmas Tree illuminate­s the Crimzone Garden and is adorned with a variety of locally sourced trimmings. This beautiful holiday tree is made up of bamboo and accented with native ornaments.

WATERFRONT CEBU CITY HOTEL AND CASINO.

The Christmas Carousel symbolizes infinity, timelessne­ss and the unending circle of life. The tree stands 30 feet tall and is adorned with ornaments of red, gold and green. Executives from Kapwa Ko Mahal Ko, which is the hotel’s corporate social responsibi­lity beneficiar­y, joined the lighting of the Christmas Carousel with Anders Hallden, Waterfront’s general manager, and Cebu Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale.
