Talisay chief to clean ranks Talisay Acting Police Chief Recla says there are 3 cops in Talisay City linked to illegal drugs
ASIDE from removing illegal drug personalities in her city, the acting police chief of Talisay City also wants to cleanse her ranks of policemen allegedly protecting high-profile drug suspects.
Supt. Aileen Recla, acting Talisay City police chief, told Sun. Star Cebu that three policemen assigned in her office are reportedly involved as “protectors” of suspected drug personalities.
She confirmed receiving the information during a meeting with the city’s barangay captains last week.
The three policemen were allegedly protecting and coddling a high-profile drug lord who is conducting operations in Talisay City.
Barangay chiefs reportedly told Recla that the three policemen were considered “friends” of the high-profile drug personality.
Proof
Recla refused to name the three policemen until the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) will be able to validate their involvement. If it’s proven that they are really involved, Recla plans to ask Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) Director Senior Supt. Jose Macanas to relieve them immediately.
“Dili gyud na mahimo nga magpabilin sila. Masayang ang akong lakaw ug dili na ko katuohan sa mga tawo kung mismo akong mga sakop kay involved sa illegal drugs (They can’t stay. All will be to waste if no one believes in me because even my own men are involved in illegal drugs),” she added.
Campaign
Since she assumed as Talisay City police chief last week, Recla has conducted intense anti-illegal drug operations, particularly in the coastal barangay of Tanke, which has been known as a “tiangge” for illegal drugs.
Due to her non-stop operations, Recla and her personnel have arrested 10 illegal drug personalities as of yesterday.
She has also facilitated the surrender of 10 suspected drug personalities in Tanke.
Currently, the number of surrenderees in Talisay City has reached 365, including five drug pushers identified in the top 10 most wanted drug personalities in the city.
In an earlier interview, Talisay City Mayor Eduardo Gullas challenged Recla to conduct nonstop operations against suspected drug personalities in the city, including arresting high-profile drug suspects.
