TAIHEYO Cement Philippines Inc. (TCPI) and Solid Earth Development Corp. (SEDC) reviewed their joint Social Development Management Program (SDMP) by consulting key stakeholders to revalidate and update it to be more responsive to the communities they serve in San Fernando.
Some 50 community leaders, including barangay captains, school principals, head teachers and people’s organization leaders from now 13 impact barangays covered by the SDMP and some town officials gathered recently for this purpose.

TCPI and SEDC consulted the stakeholders’ representatives preparatory to the development of a new five-year work plan for 2016 to 2020 with its corresponding budget, focusing SDMP’s resources to programs the representatives’ preferences.
The participants classified the projects and programs undertaken in the past, those in progress and some being proposed as they assessed based on the impact to their communities, especially those that improve the lives of those in need.
As the stakeholders have recommended, their output were later classified by the community development office according to the following categories: enterprise development and networking; assistance to infrastructure development and support services; access to education and educational support; access to health services, health facilities and health professionals; protection and respect of social cultural values; development of mining technology and geoscience; and implementation of information, education and communication activities.
