Rookie cop in hot water

A ROOKIE policeman from Bohol is being investigated for allegedly molesting a nurse in Cebu City.

The Police Regional Office 7-Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (RIDMD) is looking into the incident, according to Senior Supt. Rey Lyndon Lawas.

PO1 Saldy Salvo of Tagbilaran City Police Station allegedly touched the private parts of a 25-year-old nurse in Barangay Camputhaw.

Sexual harassment

The alleged victim Lani (real name withheld) filed a sexual harassment complaint against Salvo, 29, before the Office of the Cebu City Prosecutor.

The complaint will undergo preliminary investigation, during which the officer will be required to submit his counter-affidavit.

Sun.Star Cebu called Salvo, but the officer could not be reached as of press time.

Lawas said the RIDMD’s inquiry will determine if there is enough evidence to charge Salvo with an administrative case.

Salvo was transferred to the operations branch of the Cebu City Police Office as part of the security for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meetings and venues on the first week of August.

Last Aug. 28, around 8 a.m., Salvo allegedly touched the privates of Lani while she was sleeping in the lodging house where Salvo was staying.

The incident allegedly happened again at 3 p.m., according to the report stated in the blotter of Cebu City Police Station 2.

Lani then decided to report the incident to the police.
