BOY, 17, SHOOTS FAMILY OF 3

-

A COUPLE and their son were shot and injured by a 17-year-old boy outside their house in Barangay Pulpogan, Consolacion, Cebu last Friday morning.

Revenge was eyed as the motive of the attack after the boy’s father was arrested last month.

Police identified the victims as Eduardo Quimod, 58; his wife Filomena, 58; and son Jefrey, 37.

Eduardo was shot in the left thigh; Filomena got hit in the right hand; and Jefrey was wounded in the left arm.

The Consolacion police- men are still looking for the boy, who is a relative of the victims, who immediately fled from the area.

PO2 Richie Gapo of the Consolacion Police Station said the couple was relaxing outside their house when the boy, armed with a caliber .45 pistol, approached and shot them at 10:15 a.m.

Jefrey tried to secure his parents but was also shot instead.

The victims were rushed to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.

The police recovered five empty shells from a .45 pistol. These will be subjected to a ballistic examination.

Gapo said the boy’s father was caught last month for possession of illegal firearm and the boy reportedly suspected that the couple was behind it.

“Panimawos ni iyaha guro. Dugay nasad na sila naa gyuy mga away-away diha (I think this is a case of retaliation. They have been at odds for a long time),” he told Sun.Star Cebu.

Gapo said the victims are now out of harm’s way and they are preparing a complaint against the boy for frustrated murder.
