11 apprehended for various violations
OPERATIVES of the Police Regional Office Cordillera arrested eleven drug peddlers, gamblers and illegal logging violators in a series of police operations in the different parts of the region.
In an anti-illegal drug operation, four drug suspects were locked up in jail.
Ronald Gandia Baracas, 35, vendor, native of Sual, Pangasinan was nabbed inside the INC Compound in San Luis, Baguio City in a buy-bust operation which yielded three transparent plastic sachet of shabu and buybust money amounting to P1,500.
By virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Maria Ligaya Itliong Rivera of RTC Branch 5, Baguio City, three individuals were captured in their residents at Valencerina Alley, MRR-Queen of Peace, Baguio City in the night of September 7, 2017.
Arested were Sharon Tolentino Neri, 46, single, nurse; Lawrence Gonzales Camilon, 43, single and Rogelio Caparas. Recovered from their possession were nine plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, one small brown paper envelope, one sling bag
and one double mint container.
In anti-illegal gambling operation, four gamblers were also collared by police.
Julius Bunga Ayasan, 40, a resident of Naguilian, La Union was nabbed in the afternoon of September 6, at Purok 1, Irisan, Baguio City who was caught in the act of collecting bets. Confiscated from his possession were bet money amounting to P660, two pieces ball pen, and assorted illegal gambling paraphernalia.
Three more gamblers were apprehended the following day after they were caught in the act of playing card games in Brgy. Zone 1, Bangued, Abra.
Arrested gamblers were identified as Andy Tadeo Torres, 49, miner, a resident of Brgy. Tumalip, LicuanBaay, Abra; Fredelito Pulido Frado, 41, driver, a resident of Brgy. Bantaoay, San Vicente, Ilocos Sur; and Galiman Salang-oy Magewao, 29, single, unemployed a resident of Brgy. Danac West, Boliney, Abra.
Suspects were identified as unlisted members of the “Torres Criminal Group” and responsible in leading illegal gambling activity in the area.
Confiscated during the operation were set of playing cards and bet money amounting to P495 in different denominations.
On the other hand, three illegal loggers were arrested after they were intercepted at Callagdao, Tabuk, Kalinga by personnel of Kalinga Public Safety Company in the morning of September 7. Arrested were Joey Duga Bucatan, 25, married, driver and a resident of San Rafael, Paracelis Mt. Province; Rodel Pucling Lucio 33, single, a resident of Banilag Poblacion, Paracelis, Mt. Province; and Gina Batangay Tomas, 37, married, a resident of Bananao, Paracelis, Mt. Province
Prior to their arrest, Bucatan was driving the elf truck bearing plate TGS 985 loaded with undetermined volume of Narra lumber when they were stopped by the police. PRO-COR Release
