A TWO-way fight is on for the Province of Benguet.

Incumbent governor Nestor Fongwan has filed his bid for congress facing off with incumbent representative Ronald Cosalan.

Fongwan under the National Unity Party (NUP) filed his Certificate of Candidacy at the Commission on Elections Thursday with running mates

incumbent Buguias Mayor Melchor Diclas eying the position of governor and incumbent board member Conception Balao gunning for vice governor.

Completing the slate of Fongwan are district one board members incumbents Estaban Piok, Johnny Waguis, Benjamin Saguid, and Tuba Mayor Florencio Bentrez.

For district two, Roberto Canuto, Vicente Kitongan, incumbent board member Robert Namoro, Tublay Mayor Rueben Paoad, Kibungan Mayor Benito Siadto and Apolinario Bagano complete the slate.

Cosalan, under the administration ticket, is running with incum- bent vice governor Nelson Dangwa, who is eyeing the position of governor with incumbent board member Florence Tingbaoen eyeing the position of vice governor.

Both Fongwan and Cosalan won with huge margins over opponents in the last elections, making the race to the congressional seat one of the most interesting in the history of the province.

Fongwan has campaigned and won with agenda on health, education, agriculture and resource mobilization, tourism, social services and sports (HEARTSS) for the province while Coslaan is credited for building road networks in the province.
