Business organizations are constantly tracking and monitoring numbers: sales, key performance indicators (KPIs), ratios and metrics. With the right purpose, tracking numbers enables leaders to bridge the gap between where they are now and where they want to go.

KPIS IN CHECK

In Ovialand, emphasis on our financial KPIs entails working towards and protecting our targeted 40 percent net income. By using technology, ensuring efficiency, and focusing on objectives, our whole organization is constantly working towards a common goal—eliminate dead-weight, redundant, non-rationalized processes and delayed decision-making, which can severely immobilize an organization.

Last year was when all financial KPIs were green and up for Ovialand. Revenues soared by 90 percent, net income was up, gross profits were sustained, and operating expenses were controlled. Debts were reduced and dividends were paid to investors.

Our organization was determined to deliver our 2021 target. But while the end result was positive and successful, our organization remained wide-eyed and focused, careful not to let our guard down. It has been an uphill growth for us, but this requires continued focus, determination and will.

NON-FINANCIAL METRICS

While it is easy to take comfort in the numbers, our organization had to face other difficult metrics as well.

Early on, we identified our non-financial KPIs as measures of our performance— how many families moved into their new homes? Were the clients satisfied with the homes that were turned over to them? How convenient was the homebuying process for our clients?

These metrics can be easily overlooked especially as an organization continues to grow bigger and faster. It is easy to get lost in the daily cycle and ignore these details because answers to these questions cannot be found in the P&L or balance sheet. But these tell us what the company values, and will most likely correlate to the future of the business.

In our case, our 2021 numbers equate to 433 homes built and turned over—433 new homeowners who have chosen Ovialand developments to be their home. We are focused to ensure that their new homes are turned over at the quality we committed, within the designated time frames.

And for this year, we look forward to serving another 615 clients and welcome them into their brand new premier homes.

As we look forward to the world overcoming COVID-19, whether it be the end of the pandemic or the world just finding ways to resume its old habits and practices, businesses will be moving faster and more aggressively as we try to make up for the lost time and opportunity from the past two years.

Let us be guided not just by our financial metrics. Let us balance them with our non-financial KPIs and ensure that we clearly define and meet the purpose of our businesses and organizations.

At Ovialand, we are committed to give all our clients the experience of Premier Family Living, one brand new house at a time.
