Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn Manila Galleria receive IHG Giving for Good Award 2021
Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn Manila Galleria received the IHG Giving for Good Award 2021 for its efforts in coming together to make positive change to the communities around it through volunteering, taking care of the environment, and making a difference to each associate’s health and wellbeing through its Giving for
Good month which it celebrated with “R Love” last September.
Around 200 associates took part in these initiatives as they willingly shared from their own pockets to fund for these good deeds. Each department organized their unique initiative while the hotels have their own company-initiated endeavors.
The Finance Dept. gather resources to feed and fend for the 100 grandmothers of the Little Sisters of the Elderly in San Juan. The Engineering
Team used their gardening skills at the 5th floor garden area of the hotel. Nurse Ton Delgado, a tai-chi advocate
and practitioner, freely shared his expertise to his colleagues. RISE alumna and rooms division managers, Regina Sta. Cruz and Dennise Gallardo, chose to raise awareness on building confidence and expressing oneself through #IAMRemarkable, a 90-minute workshop which got its framework from powerhouse partnerships of Google and IHG.
The hotel also rewarded front-liners–the Pasig Blue Boys and the Airport Front-liners –with a hotel bento meal, while the Food and Beverage Dept. shared sets also of bento meals to delivery riders from Grab, Lalamove, and Food Panda.
There was a blood donation drive for the cancer patients at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center as the Front Office staff donated cribs. The hotel’s biker enthusiasts also distributed 100 food packs as they biked around the city. Finally, the HOPE Community Facility in Quezon City (-E7 7?/0H2-+2/2 65
was chosen as a beneficiary of hotel linens and toiletries.
The associates, especially from the Housekeeping Dept., were this time treated to an activity-packed Olympics Weekwheretheyplayedandwonprizes.
General manager Barun Jolly said, “It is really amazing and heartwarming that about 80 percent of our total workforce participated in the program, supporting five institutions, and distributed beyond 300 food packs. This filled the hotel with so much happiness, love and hope. We believe in genuinely giving back to the community and we hope to create a lasting positive impact.
