ZAMBOANGA CITY— Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque has announced some P23 billion worth of projects being brought by the Duterte administration to this city through its “Build, Build, Build” program.

According to Roque, the city would get a “whopping” share of the government’s P8.4-trillion budget for the “Build, Build, Build.”

Roque was in the city to witness the oathtaking of at least 760 village officials as new members of the ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan and to serve as a wedding sponsor of the Ruste family, owner of one of the biggest construction firms in the city.

Roque said projects earmarked for the city included 102 roads worth P1.1 billion. Among these is a 36-kilometer bypass road scheduled for completion this year.

The bypass road, according to Roque, would connect Zamboanga City to the cities of Dipolog and Pagadian.

It would also ease trans- portation by boat to the Zamboanga Freeport from the district of Labuan, Roque said.

All the projects, the spokesperson said, would start this year and be completed before 2022.

Another project that forms part of “Build, Build, Build” for Zamboanga City is the P2-billion modernization project for the city airport, Roque said.

“Your suffering is over,” he said.

“Finally you will have a decent airport a bit far from the town proper,” Roque added.
