Indonesian Food Festival 2017 at the SMMall of Asia

Mallgoers will have the rare opportunit­y to taste the flavors of Indonesia during the One Day Exquisite Indonesian Food Festival 2017 at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall on October 27, 2017.

A joint project of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Manila and the SM Mall of Asia, the event aims not only at promoting Indonesian Cuisine but also in strengthen­ing people to people relationsh­ips between Indonesian­s and Filipinos. It is also a means of social mission by donating to charitable institutio­ns. This year beneficiar­ies are Hospicio De San Jose and the internal displaced persons ( IDPs) of Marawi, which will be course through Philippine Red Cross.

Indonesian cuisine is one of the most vibrant and colorful cuisines in the world, full of intense flavor. Indonesia has around 5,350 traditiona­l recipes, with 30 of them considered the most important. Indonesia's cuisine may include rice, noodle and soup dishes in modest local eateries to street-side snacks and top-dollar plates.

acquired With from its complex certain flavor, ingredient­s and bumbu spices mixtures, Indonesian dishes have rich flavors - savory, hot and spicy, and a combinatio­n of basic tastes - sweet, salty, sour and bitter. Most of Indonesian­s favor hot and spicy food, thus sambal, Indonesian hot and spicy chili sauce with shrimp paste, is a staple condiment at all Indonesian tables. Some popular Indonesian dishes such as nasi goreng, gado-gado, satay and soto are ubiquitous in the country and considered as national dishes.

During the event, twelve (12) Indonesian restaurant/caterer will be selling different Indonesian reasonable prices, foods/dishes while three at (3) Indonesian companies will do product sampling and selling. Food selling start at 11:00 am till 10:00 pm.

dishes Besides from enjoying Indonesia, exquisite mallgoers will be treated with Indonesian cultural performanc­es as well, as various activity are line up in between like cooking demo, traditiona­l dances and music, fun games and raffles, and cocktail reception.
