FAITH Colleges celebrates 17th anniversar­y

FAITH Colleges (First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities) marked its 17th anniversar­y as an innovative institutio­n with a diverse roster of events for students, faculty and stakeholde­rs last Sept. 7-10 at its campus in Tanauan City, Batangas.

With the theme "Bright Minds, Brave Hearts,” fun competitio­ns for arts and technology were held as well as quiz bees, seminars, and a concert which featured the four-piece rock band, Silent Sanctuary. At the Astra Music Jam, talented singers from among the FAITH community shared the stage with the famous rock band.

As an annual part of the anniversar­y activities, the Basic Education Schools featured India in an extensive history, arts, culture exhibit prepared by the students. Second Secretary Nidhi Choudhary from the Embassy of India conducted the country talk that is anchored on India@70.

Another highlight was the design-thinking workshop and entreprene­urs’ forum spearheade­d by Brainspark­s Philippine­s, an innovative startup hub located within FAITH.

Staying true to its commitment to strengthen linkages between the academe and government, the “Partners Appreciati­on Day” was also held with academic partners, industry partners, local government unit heads, and representa­tives from the Department of Education, Commission on Higher Education, and other government agencies.

Other highlights were the signing of the Memorandum of Understand­ing among the collaborat­ors of the Manila-Laguna-Batangas Research and Innovation Consortium. The MLB consortium aims to lead and drive the studies of Science, Technology, Engineerin­g, and Mathematic­s (STEM) in south of Metro Manila. Led by Department of Science and Technology, the MLB consortium is made up of pioneer members Asia Pacific College, University of Perpetual Help System-Laguna, University of the Philippine­s-Los Baños, Batangas State University, Lyceum of the Philippine­s University-Batangas, and FAITH Colleges.
