FAITH Colleges celebrates 17th anniversary
FAITH Colleges (First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities) marked its 17th anniversary as an innovative institution with a diverse roster of events for students, faculty and stakeholders last Sept. 7-10 at its campus in Tanauan City, Batangas.
With the theme "Bright Minds, Brave Hearts,” fun competitions for arts and technology were held as well as quiz bees, seminars, and a concert which featured the four-piece rock band, Silent Sanctuary. At the Astra Music Jam, talented singers from among the FAITH community shared the stage with the famous rock band.
As an annual part of the anniversary activities, the Basic Education Schools featured India in an extensive history, arts, culture exhibit prepared by the students. Second Secretary Nidhi Choudhary from the Embassy of India conducted the country talk that is anchored on India@70.
Another highlight was the design-thinking workshop and entrepreneurs’ forum spearheaded by Brainsparks Philippines, an innovative startup hub located within FAITH.
Staying true to its commitment to strengthen linkages between the academe and government, the “Partners Appreciation Day” was also held with academic partners, industry partners, local government unit heads, and representatives from the Department of Education, Commission on Higher Education, and other government agencies.
Other highlights were the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding among the collaborators of the Manila-Laguna-Batangas Research and Innovation Consortium. The MLB consortium aims to lead and drive the studies of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in south of Metro Manila. Led by Department of Science and Technology, the MLB consortium is made up of pioneer members Asia Pacific College, University of Perpetual Help System-Laguna, University of the Philippines-Los Baños, Batangas State University, Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas, and FAITH Colleges.
