VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT WINS MIDSIZE LUXURY SEDAN AWARD AT COTY-PH
The first Passat rolled off the production line over four decades ago, and since then, over than 22 million vehicles in its series have been sold worldwide. Last year, the current 8th generation model Passat was unveiled by Volkswagen Philippines and its competitive pricing has made it an ideal choice for executives who prefer understated elegance and the premium feel of a German car.
Thanks to decades of unparalleled Volkswagen engineering and its design heritage, Passat was also awarded the 2015 European Car of the Year. “The introduction of the award-winning Passat will become the biggest product launch of the year for Volkswagen Philippines,” said John Philip Orbeta, Volkswagen Philippines’ President and CEO, during the Passat press preview last year.

In a ceremony held at the One Rockwell East Tower, Franz Decleodt, marketing director and Timmy Deleon PR and events head of VW PH were present to receive the award organized by the Car Awards Group Inc., established in 2004, the CAGI is the longestrunning organization of motoring journalists in the country today.
The responsive and efficient 2.0 TSI engine generates 220 PS of power is mated with a 6-speed dual-clutch Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) transmission. Proudly made and assembled in Germany, its features include LED headlights, 18” alloy wheels, Adaptive Chassis Control, 12-way electric front seats, a navigation system, rear view camera, Active Info Display gauges, and a panoramic sunroof. Both its Business Edition and Highline variants feature technological, infotainment and safety innovations such as the 3-zone Climatronic Air Conditioning, Park Distance Control, XDS Differential Lock, “KeylessGo” Entry (KESSY), 8-speaker Audio System, and iPod, USB, Bluetooth Connectivity.
