Lost and found
HOLY WEEK is the only time in the year when celebrities are allowed to take a much-needed break from the show biz circus. Their schedules the rest of the year (even on holidays) are as frenzied as can be.
Holy Week is a time to stop being lost in the shuffle and no longer shuffle with the lost.
I asked some stars for their Semana Santa reflections:
Vilma Santos: Time to pray and thank our Lord for all the blessings and ask for guidance in the coming election.
Ogie Alcasid: There is no day that we as a family don’t spend… with God. Holy Week will be no different. It is a time to be grateful. It is a time to worship and praise Jesus for He has saved us from sin.
Jose Mari Chan: I will reflect on God’s infinite capacity to forgive. Up to the time when Christ was hanging on the cross, He forgave those who had Him crucified.
In my heart, I will also look beyond myself and forgive those who have hurt me in the past. In the same way, I will humbly ask
for forgiveness from those whom I’ve hurt.
Jasmine Curtis-Smith: I’ll reflect on how amazing my year has been so far. And how grateful I amfor the people around me right now.
Sandy Andolong: Holy Week for me is the best time for self-reflection or examination of one’s conscience. It’s a great time to assess what areas of my life need improvement to be a better wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and child of God.
Kim Atienza: I will reflect on how beautiful my life is. God blessed me with [my wife] Felicia, our three beautiful kids, good health, a fabulous job and an amazing relationship with Him. My Lord Jesus is awesome!
Suzi Entrata-Abrera: I shall reflect on how I can be more of a guide for my children’s spirituality. In this day and age when values are challenged more and more, it is important to be confident that the beliefs of my children will guide them through life and the many decisions they need to make.
This Holy Week, we shall pray together and talk about how we see and feel God.
Jed Madela: I’m going to take a trip away from my work environment and go back to how simple my life was. I’d like to reflect on my relationship with the Lord.
The past months have been loaded with work that I completely forgot my spiritual obligations.
In these troubled times, we have to simplify our lives and hang on to Someone who will never abandon us—our Lord.
