Pacquiao grateful for all-out Inquirer coverage
HOLLYWOOD — Manny Pacquiao thanked the INQUIRER Thursday afternoon after his workout at Wild Card gym here, acknowledging the effort of the country’s most respected news organization in covering his highly anticipated bout against Floyd Mayweather Jr.
“Salamat sa INQUIRER pala. Nakikita ko yung pag-uusap nila, yung interview-interview nila (I’d like to thank the INQUIRER. I am aware of how they strategize, of their interviews (with people in the Filipino ring superstar’s camp),” Pacquiao said in a short video message shot inside the famous boxing gym.
“Thank you,” added the eight-division champion.
The INQUIRER has assembled a five-man team to cover the Pacquiao-Mayweather bout slated May 2 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, backstopping it with an elite “home team” in Manila that traffics content to its different, wide-reaching platforms.
Updates on the fight can be read in its flagship platform, the Philippine Daily Inquirer, the country’s largest and most respected newspaper, which will provide special supplements for the fight.
INQUIRER.net will also provide updates on a 24/7 cycle on its special site, Pacquiao Files, with content also farmed out to Cebu Daily News, Bandera and INQUIRER Libre. The United States team also reports regularly on radio’s dzIQ 990 live. Snippets of content are also available on INQUIRER’s various social media accounts.
The INQUIRER has gone all-out to provide Pacquiao fans and boxing enthusiasts the most comprehensive coverage of what is being billed as the biggest fight in decades featuring the best pound-forpound boxers of their generation.
