2 Manila cops killed with 4 suspected hijackers in Cavite

BATANGAS CITY—Six suspected hijackers of a truck loaded with P1.2 million dairy products were killed by police in two separate encounters early Friday morning in Dasmariñas, Cavite, said the provincial police chief of Cavite.

Senior Supt. John Bulalacao, Cavite police director, said four of the suspects, who were onboard two separate cars, were killed in an ensuing gun battle with policemen chasing them in Campus Avenue, Sitio San Agustin 3, Barangay Lankaan around 2 a.m.

He identified three of the four hijackers as PO2 Robert Santos, PO1 Jonjie Liangco and Jessie Villanueva but have yet to identify the fourth suspect.

The two other suspects were killed by policemen in a simultaneo­us operation at a warehouse located in the same village. Police, also have yet to identify the two.

Bulalacao said Santos had been Awol (absent without leave) since April while Liangco was active in service at the National Capital Region Police Office Station 10.

Recovered in the two encounter scenes were six firearms, a Mitsubishi Adventure, a Toyota Vios, a 10-wheel- er truck and hijacked products worth P1.9 million.

Bulalacao said three persons involved in the hijacking incident were earlier arrested dawn Thursday and led police to the warehouse where the hijacked products were kept.

He said the hijacking occurred Tuesday, also in Dasmariñas.
