SEI celebrates silver anniversary
A NUMBER of activities on Sept. 19 will cap the 25th anniversary celebration of the Science Education Institute (SEI).
The science and technology human resources development agency of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) will showcase its achievements and future directions in promoting science education in the country.
Theme of the celebration is “Enabling the Next Generation through Innovations Science Education.”
To promote its silver anniversary in social media, SEI will give a cash prize to the 2,500th and 25,000th to “like” its Facebook page at the time of the anniversary.
Director Filma G. Brawner said SEI had been at the forefront of delivering services that directly aided in the improvement of science and technology education and, consequently, the economic development of the country.
During the celebration, the Silver Employees award will be given to those who have been with the institute for 25 years. The Silver Links award will honor SEI partners. A coffee table book featuring the institute’s outstanding science scholars for each of its 25 years of existence will also be launched.
The SEI will host the DOST Scholars’ Day among high school students. A forum and the Exhibit on Scholars 25 will showcase the human resources development program by featuring selected scholars from 1987 to 2012.
