Phone court advantage: open your gate remotely through a SIM

-

MANY houses may already have the convenience of radio remote-controlled garage doors. Recently, though, a Lithuanian company called Teltonika developed a gate controller device which allows one access through cellphone signals.

Teltonika’s gate controller can be installed on any type of automated entrance and works by using a cellphone SIM card from any network. Selected cellphone numbers, such as the numbers of the family members, must first be programmed into the gate controller. The gate controller can accept a maximum of 500 cellphone numbers.

If any of the pre-programmed numbers dial the SIM card number, the controller will respond by blocking the call and either opening or closing the gate. Because the call is blocked, no deduction will be made to the cellphone load of the caller. If the call is made in the middle of operation, the gate will halt. And in case a call is made from a cellphone number that has not been pre-programmed, the device will not respond.

Teltonika has been developing and producing telecommunications devices since its inception in 1998. This device offers several benefits. First, homeowners no longer have to be in the vicinity of their homes in order to open their gate. If guests suddenly arrive, they can open the gates in order to let guests in. This is especially useful for those with guest houses in far-flung areas.

In addition, a homeowner can now grant several family members access to his gate at the same time.

Lastly, in the event that homeowners have existing gate automations, they now have an alternative way of accessing their gates in case their remote control is lost or damaged.
