Accommodation facilities to accept frontliners

LOCAL accommodation facilities have offered to provide accommodation to medical practitioners after some of them were evicted by their boarding houses following the report that they were exposed to people who might have contracted the COVID-19.

In a social media post, the Davao Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCCI) identified the establishments as the Davao Airport View, Circle-B Suites, Chateau Cinco Dormitel, D’Aribus Inn, Yellow Pad, Sharana Pensionne, and Capital O World Palace of OYO

Hotel; and Blue Lotus Hotel.

The city government, on the other hand, has also negotiated with Oh George, a motel operator, to allow its motels to accommodate the workers.

John Carlo B. Tria, DCCCI president, lauded the move of the accommodation establishments as this would help the medical workers, who have been burdened by the sheer number of people who have gone to the hospital to be examined.

“We are thankful for them for allowing the nurses. This will allow them safer and easier access to their workplaces while complying with government requirements,” said Tria.

Health Assistant Secretary Roy Ferrer earlier defended the medical health workers who were evicted from their rented rooms as they were professionals and that “they know what to do and how to disinfect themselves.”

Instead of making them suffer more, Ferrer said the public “should thank them for their service, and help them in every way we can.”
