Volvo XC40 B5 R-Design Boost Hybrid as hole-in-one prize
VOLVO Philippines was a proud hole-in-one sponsor of Alabang Country Club’s 35th Mango Tee. The Volvo XC40 B5 R-Design Boost Hybrid graced the greens at what could be dubbed as one of the country’s most prestigious golfing events. Held annually, this year’s tournament held activities from January 30 to February 4. Around P36 million was at stake with prizes and giveaways ranging from cars to golf carts.
The Volvo XC40 B5 R-Design Boost Hybrid was a fitting prize in the tournament. It was the first Volvo model to win the prestigious European Car of the Year award. The XC40 was defined by a strong graphical design, a natural feeling of strength and quality, and a playful nature, regarding colors and materials. Intuitive and convenient, it had a next-generation infotainment system that offered customers unprecedented personalization and unparalleled connectivity.
This strikingly stylish compact sport utility vehicle (SUV) featured Volvo’s advanced kinetic energy recovery braking system, coupled with its existing internal combustion engines, to create a newly integrated electrified power train. This new power train, electrified via brake-by-wire energy recovery, offered drivers up to 15-percent fuel savings and emission reduction in real-world driving.
The XC40 brought a new safety standard to the compact SUV premium segment, as the car was equipped with the award-winning safety technologies known from Volvo’s 90 and 60 series cars. It also had Volvo cars’ latest Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) sensor platform, which was a modern, scalable active safety system, comprising radars, cameras and ultrasonic sensors.
