MALE, FEMALE SALTWATER CROCODILES CAUGHT

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY: Two big saltwater crocodiles were caught in a river in Bataraza town and were later transferre­d to Palawan Crocodile Farm and Conservato­ry. Bernardo Francisco, officer in charge and project director of the Crocodile Farm, in an interview with The Manila Times said the female crocodile measuring 11 feet was caught Monday night while the 16-foot male crocodile measuring was caught early Tuesday. He added that the crocodiles were internatio­nally caught after attacking a fisherman, who was injured in his foot.“if the crocodiles will not be held in captivity, another attack is possible,” he said. Moreover, Francisco said that they plan to name the crocodiles as “Valentino” and “Valentina.” He added that the female crocodile will be now a breeding crocodile at the Palawan Crocodile Farm and Conservato­ry. BALANGA City, Bataan: Two, including a newly arrived overseas worker, died while four others were seriously injured when their Subic-bound car for still unknown reason swerved from its route to the left and crashed along the Roman superhighw­ay here near midnight Tuesday. The OFW from Singapore Armando Calma, 41; owner/driver of the Honda Civic, and Tristan Joy Cruz 27, passenger in the front seat, were pronounced dead on arrival at the Bataan General Hospital in Balanga, said Bataan police director Senior Supt. Ricardo Zapata. Seriously injured in different parts of the body with sprains on hands and legs and confined at the same hospital were Joan Jiongco, 29; Conrad Rapira 37; Joey Cruz, 32 and Sheena Cruz 22. Those with surnames Cruz are brothers and sisters. They are all from Kitang I in Limay, Bataan. The car driven by Calma was traveling on the right lane but swerved to the left side of the superhighw­ay and first crashed on a high mound of soil then hit a small tree and crashed at the steel gate and concrete wall of the Elizabeth Supermart undergoing constructi­on, reported Supt. Melecio Buslig, Balanga City police chief. The car was a total wreck with some parts scattered on the soil and tree it first hit and near the guardhouse. THE supposed love- filled celebratio­n of Valentine’s Day turned bloody, as a man killed his own wife, then shot himself in the head in Batangas province Tuesday. Batangas- Philippine National Police identified the fatality as Ria Labandila, 32, who was shot by his “bitter half” Joel Abalos Labandila, 33. Senior Inspector Liezel Dimaandal reported to Camp Crame that the tragedy took place inside the couple’s house in Barangay ( village) Sto. Nino, San Pascual, Batangas around 4: 50 p. m.— Joel shot his wife point blank and fled on a Starex van ( WFC 542). After an hour, Jayson was also found bloodied inside the Batangas Bay Terminal Inc. in Barangay San Miguel, Bauan, with a gunshot wound on his head.
