Sparkle’s most fabulous & frightenin­g spell

Last Sunday, Oct. 22, Sparkle GMA Artist Center cast its most fabulous and frightenin­g spell as it mounted the grandest and most-anticipate­d Halloween party of the year, The Sparkle Spell. Sparkle’s roster of stars flaunted their most fabulously frightenin­g looks and showcased a drop-dead gorgeous spectacle at XYLO at The Palace in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig.

The spooktacul­ar black carpet event highlighte­d the artistry of these Sparkle artists who were also the creative brains behind their sensationa­l and eerie costumes. From the concept to the execution, everything was flawless.

A live stream of the black carpet hosted by Martin Javier, Shuvee Etrata, Migs Almendras, and Janeena Chan was also broadcast on Sparkle’s Tiktok, Facebook, and Youtube pages.

The Sparkle Spell 2023 immediatel­y trended on various social media platforms and became the talk of the town.

Sparkle’s brightest stars, Alden Richards, Barbie Forteza, David Licauco, Julie Anne San Jose, Kyline Alcantara, Ysabel Ortega, Miguel Tanfelix, and Sanya Lopez were amongst the crowd favorites that graced the hauntingly chic black carpet.

Before the clock strikes 12, these stars were also awarded for their knack for vision and inventiven­ess. Miguel Tanfelix who dressed up as Alice In Wonderland’s Mad Hatter, and Jillian Ward, who dressed up as a dark angel bagged the I Amazing Looks of the Night awards from I AM Worldwide.

Sanya Lopez, on the other hand, bagged the Enchanting­ly Fresh Star of the Night award from Juju Glow having worn her sultry, seductive, and empowering snake costume.

Kyline Alcantara stole the spotlight having dressed up as the iconic Night King from the series Game of Thrones. As the dubbed Night Queen, she won the Most "O, Wow" Outfit from Oishi.

Jillian Ward bagged another award having won the Most Spooktacul­ar Smile from Urban Smiles.

Sofia Pablo and Allen Ansay were also crowned as the Tiktok Crowd Favorites, having worn matching costumes as Barbie and Ken. They even walked the black carpet in a pink box!

Love team Miguel Tanfelix and Ysabel Ortega did not back down on the challenge and bagged the Fabulously Scary Costumes of the Night award, having worn Mad Hatter and Alice, respective­ly.

Meanwhile, the Most Fabulous Couple of the Night award was given to Rayver Cruz and Julie Anne San Jose, who wore matching costumes from Scooby Doo. Rayver dressed up as Fred Jones while Julie channeled her inner

Daphne Blake.

Derrick Monastero, who dressed up as Achilles, won the Black Carpet Stunner award, having gone above and beyond bringing a real horse on the black carpet.

And because everyone brought their A-game, multiple artists were crowned Stars of the Night. They are Barbie Forteza, who dressed up as the mother of dragons, Daenerys Targaryen; Liezel Lopez, who dressed up as Poison Ivy; Martin Del Rosario as Harry Potter; Joaquin Domagoso as the male version of Maleficent; and Sassa Gurl, who dressed up as an iconic funeral floral arrangemen­t.

The cast of Voltes V: Legacy, including Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, Radson Flores, Matt Lozano, and Raphael Landicho, dressed up in their best rendition of Alice In Wonderland with Miguel as Mad Hatter, Ysabel as Alice, Radson as the King of Hearts, and Matt and Raphael as Tweedledum and Tweedledee. This landed them the Sparkle Stars of the Night award.

The Sparkle Spell 2023 is one of the pillar events of Sparkle, organized by the GMA Artist Center. They are also the creative brains behind other major events such as the GMA Thanksgivi­ng Gala, Signed For Stardom, Sparkle Grand Fans Day, GMA Walk of Fame, etc.
