CAMP GEN. PANTALEON GARCIA, Imus, Cavite – One hundred twenty six or more than 10 percent of Cavite’s 829 barangays have been declared drug-cleared by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Police Provincial Office (PPO).

Senior Superintendent William M. Segun, Cavite provincial police chief, confirmed the figures based on the report of the Cavite police’s Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU)Monitoring Center.

The report, however, stated that no cities or municipalities in the province could be declared as drug-cleared.

The latest PPO report showed that a total 2,064 drug pushers and users were ar- rested in the province in the last seven months or the period from December 5, 2017 to July 12, 2018.

The drug arrests were conducted by the provincial and local police, in coordination with PDEA, in all the province’s cities and municipalities.

The report also revealed that there were a total 31 resisting drug suspects killed by police in encounters in the province during the sevenmonths period.

The PDEA-PPO report showed that Tagaytay City, the province’s prime tourist destination, had the most number of “drug-cleared” barangays with 28, followed by Magallanes and Amadeo with 13 each, and the town of Naic and Dasmariñas City with 10 each.
