True beauty, according to Miss World

- By DOM GALEON

In an intimate, exclusive interview, beauty queen, television icon, and former Miss World title holder Megan Young shared with the Manila Bulletin her thoughts on what it means to be a woman and to be beautiful in this day and age.

Megan, who lives a rather hectic schedule, thanks to regular tapings for her ongoing teleserye, is able to find time to pursue other endeavors. Side-by-side a glamorous life, kept busy by a number of product endorse-

ments and the occasional film shoot, Megan actively engages in various socio-civic works.

Participating in activities that promote a better life particularly for those in need didn’t end after her year-long stint as Miss World in 2013, which she spent mostly by traveling to different countries in support of various advocacies. It’s a role Megan continues to fulfill, thanks to the prestige that comes with everything that she’s achieved, which she uses in a positive way.

“With any endorsement I have, I always make sure that there are different types or different (outreach programs) that we work with,” Megan told the audience at the Fairmont Makati. This sense of responsibility toward others springs from what Megan believes to be true beauty. “A beautiful woman is somebody beautiful inside out,” she said.
