4 die in 4 of road accidents

CAMP GEN. PANTALEON GARCIA, Cavite/CANDON CITY, Ilocos Sur — Four people were killed in three road accidents the other day that took place in the provinces of La Union, Ilocos Sur, and Cavite.

A five-year- old girl standing on the roadside in Barangay Pasong Camachile II in upland General Trias, Cavite, was run over by a passenger jeepney (DWY-429) driven by one Nipo Moceno Ceno Rocha, 27.

PO3 Darwin Minano Manalo, case investigat­or, said that Rocha was held at General Trias police station after the accident.

On the same day, at least nine people, including four women, were reportedly injured when two public utility jeepneys collided on the slope of Congressio­nal Road in, Barangay Dacon, General Mariano Alvarez (GMA).

The collision impact caused both jeepneys to hit a cement post on the roadside.

PO1 Jayson Feranil, officer- oncase, Feranil said that the jeepney (DXM 747) driven by one Asher Panal Daming, 60, lost its brakes on the road slope and hit the jeepney (PYX 420) driven by Jorney S. Sapitanan, 48.

Meanwhile, two persons died while eight others were injured in separate vehicular accidents along the national highway in La Union.

Police said the first accident happened along the road in Barangay Calumbaya, Bauang, La Union involving three vehicles that resulted to the death of one Maureen Morna, 4, a resident from Barangay Paringao, Bauang, La Union.

Injured during the accident were Ernesto Morna, the car’s driver; Maura Morna, 59; Eric Morna, 27; Malou Morna, 25; Kurt Russel Morna, 6; and Lorica Morna, 2.

The accident occurred when the car where the victims were on board was accidental­ly bump by the ownertype jeep driven by one Christian Puzon, 34, and a tractor trailer driven by one Jayson San Diego from Nueva Ecija, while moving along the road.
