Sophia’s inclusion in KATSEYE marks a historic moment as she becomes the first Filipino artist under the prestigious South Korean agency, HYBE. The journey for these aspiring idols began with The Debut: Dream Academy, where 20 contestants underwent rigorous K-pop idol training before forming a global girl group.
A staggering 120,000 applicants from around the world vied for a spot in the competition, with only 20 making it to the final stage. Throughout the series, fans exercised their influence by voting on platforms such as Weverse and TikTok, propelling Sophia to the top spot as one of the show’s fan favorites.
