OFWs to boost domestic property space

-

The steady economic growth is opening opportunities for overseas Filipino workers to invest in the growing real estate space. The rising demand, surging prices, and the recovering economy show the real estate sector looking up.

Data from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ Residential Real Estate Price Index showed that the residential segment is on a solid growth trajectory, with property prices going up by 2.6 percent compared to 1.6 percent the previous quarter.

There are several opportunities for OFWs looking for real estate investment. The popular destinations include Quezon City, Ortigas Center, and Makati. There are also many residential developments outside Metro Manila in the country’s major cities, such as Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite, and

Cebu.

This is an aspiration that OFWs share with most average Filipinos, one that Lumina Homes is committed to helping fulfill. As the affordable housing arm of Vista Land, the country’s largest integrated property developer, Lumina Homes has over 50 residential projects across the Philippines, which include Rizal, Bulacan, La Union, Pangasinan, Cagayan, Nueva Ecija, Bataan, Pampanga, Zambales, Tarlac, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Quezon, Albay, Sorsogon, Negros Occidental, Iloilo, Cebu, Zamboanga del Sur, Bukidnon, Misamis Occidental, Agusan del Norte, and Davao del Norte. These are important cities and towns that most of our migrant workers call home, places they will want to return to and resettle in when they retire.

To reach out to more of our hardworking kababayans abroad, Lumina Homes forged a partnership with The Filipino Channel. This 24-hour global subscription television network is patronized by

OFWs worldwide. Seeking to harness this vast following, TFC launched its Win a Home Season 3 promo last year among its subscribers in Europe and the Middle East. By registering with Lumina Homes’ newsletter and uploading photos of themselves sending money home using the Ding app, OFW promo participants qualified for the grand draw, where a brand-new Lumina house and lot was raffled off.

The grand draw, held last December and streamed live on TFC’s official YouTube channel and Facebook page, had

as its lucky winner a Kuwait-based OFW named Ms. Luzviminda Pelon, awarded a brand-new Angelique Townhouse unit.

Lumina’s Angelique Townhouse is a well-designed 35 sqm home with thoughtfully laid-out living spaces such as living and dining rooms, a kitchen, a toilet and bath, provisions for two bedrooms, a carport, and a service area. It was a promising way for Ms. Pelon’s family in the Philippines to jump-start the new year. It saw firsthand why Lumina Homes was recognized as the Best Affordable Housing Developer in the 2021 Carousell Property Awards.
