2 pa nasawi sa Cebu ambush

Sugatan si San Fernando, Cebu Mayor Lakambini Reluya habang napatay ang mister nitong kumakandidatong sa pagkaalkalde at dalawang iba pa matapos silang ambusin ng mga hindi nakikilalang lalaki sa Talisay City sa nasabing lalawigan, nitong Martes ng gabi.

Kaugnay nito, bumuo na ang Philippine National Police (PNP) ng special investigation group upang mapadali ang pagresolba sa pamamaslang kay mayoral bet at incumbent barangay chairman Ricardo Reluya, Jr., sa driver ng pamilya Reluya na si Allan Bayot at sa opisyal ng local economic investments and promotions ng San Fernando na si Ricky Monterona.

Sa naturang insidente, nakaligtas ngunit sugatan sa pananambang ang asawang si incumbent San Fernando, Cebu mayor Lakambino Reluya at dalawang bodyguard nito, na pawang isinugod sa ospital.

Ayon kay PNP Chief Director General Oscar Albayalde, kabilang lamang ang anggulong may kinalaman sa pulitika ang isa sa sinisiyasat ng nasabing special investigation task force.

“Politicians would always point to their opponents but it not necessarily the angle which we would concentrate. But local politics is one of the angles that we are looking into,” ayon kay Albayalde.

“The PNP condemns this violent attack. I have given instructions to the Regional Director of Police Regional Office 7, to provide round the clock security to Mayor Reluya, Giovani Perez and Tolentin Jefer while they undergo treatment at a local hospital due to gunshot wounds suffered in the attack,” pahabol nito.

Ayon kay Albayalde, layunin din ng imbestigasyon na matukoy ang mga suspek at mastermind sa insidente upang mapanagot ang mga ito.

“I am confident that in due time, we will achieve a breakthrough in our investigation under the same investigative framework that we applied in similar cases of violence against elective government officials,” sabi pa ni Albayalde.
