Donaire kontra Frampton, luto na sa Abril 7 sa Belfast

INIHAYAHAG ni British international boxing promoter Frank Warren na tiyak na ang sagupaan nina five-division world champion Nonito Donaire ng Pilipinas laban kay dating WBA featherweight titlist Carl Frampton sa Abril 7, 2018 sa The SSE Arena, Belfast, Ireland.

Ayon kay Warren, gusto ni Frampton na muling mapalaban sa world title bout kaya pinili niya si Donaire sa paniniwalang madaling tatalunin ang Pinoy boxer.

“Frampton is building towards another shot at a world title in the featherweight division and his bout with Donaire will be his second after splitting with Barry McGuigan’s Cyclone Promotions and his trainer son Shane earlier this year,” ayon sa ulat ng BoxingScene.com.

“On 7 April we’ll be in Belfast where Carl Frampton will be fighting Donaire. It’s a real cracking fight, a good fight for him and we’ll be giving further details in the new year,” aniya.

May rekord si Donaire na 38-4-0 Top Rank big boss Bob Arum at lumipat sa Golden Boy Promotions (GBP) ni multiple world champion Oscar dela Hoya.

Sa kanyang unang laban sa ilalim ng GBP, kumbinsidong tinalo ni Donaire ang mas batang si Ruben Garcia Hernandez ng Mexico sa puntos para mahablot ang bakanteng WBC Silver featherweight title noong nakaraang Setyembre 23 sa San Antonio, Texas.

May rekord naman si Frampton ng 24-1-0 tampok ang may 14 pagwawagi sa knockouts at tulad ni Donaire ay naging kampeon din sa super bantamweight division sa WBA at IBF bago umangat sa featherweight diadem.
