MUSCAT: Road users can now view up-to-date traffic conditions on the nation’s roads, thanks to a newly updated Royal Oman Police application.
“This project allows everyone to see the condition of the roads, to avoid congestion and road hazards, and improve traffic safety,” according to Captain Ibrahim Al Kindi.
Among the new updates are the reporting system and interactive map. Now a driver can report incidents on the roads through the application, such as accidents, traffic conditions, climate conditions, road work, and even the presence of animals on the roads. “This aims to provide an accessible reporting platform for all users, including those with special needs, without having to call the emergency police number,” Al Kindi added.
Through this application, documents are provided to the public without the need to attend the person, as they are sent by e-mail.
Individuals can also report the loss of documents, as well as the extraction of certificates of nonjudgement. In addition to traffic services, this app allows for inquiring about violations and direct payments in the event of any violation, as well as the renewal of personal and commercial vehicles and the possibility of paying technical inspection fees.
Captain Al Kindi added that the application provides information about police services and working hours for service centres, as well as a directory of police station numbers throughout the Sultanate, and has the ability to display roads and how to access them.
The application also provides visa services, enabling the user to verify the status of a submitted visa application
